apibrėžtis P. Lesgafto (1837–1909) sukurta viena pirmųjų pagrįstų mokslu fizinio auklėjimo sistemų. Rusų fizinio auklėjimo sistema ėmė skiepyti naują požiūrį į fizinį lavinimą ir sporto treniruotę. Pagrindinė jos koncepcija tokia: normalaus fizinio išsivystymo ir parengtumo galima pasiekti tik remiantis žmogaus organizmo fiziologija; fizinis lavinimas yra būtina žmogaus harmoningo ugdymo priemonė; harmoninga žmogaus raida yra paremta fizinių ir dvasinių jėgų vienove ir vyksta sąmonei vadovaujant.
